Leadership Training & Strategic Planning
for Churches & Non-Profits
WHY PROVIDENCE SOLUTIONS?

Once upon a time, a local pastor asked his congregation:
When is the best time to plant a tree? Then he replied, "Twenty years ago!" So goes much in life when it comes to planning for the future.
During the course of my law enforcement career, I had the opportunity to attend a number of leadership and management schools to include the following: University of Central Florida Master's Program, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Senior Leadership Program of Florida State University, the Rural Executive Management Institute of the University of Arkansas, and the Southern Police Institute Administrative Officers Course of the University of Louisville.
There, professors taught us how to systematically assess an organization's Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats--a managerial process called a SWOT Analysis. They taught us how to conduct and facilitate strategic planning processes and leadership and management skills and techniques. The processes became second nature and a part of our leadership and management practices. Then, between 2010 and 2013, while serving as Chief of Police in Watertown, I given the opportunity to serve as a consultant and trainer for the International Association of Chiefs of Police Leading By Legacy Program which afforded me the opportunity to teach others how to utilize these processes to improve their organizations.
I retired from law enforcement in 2013. It was my intent to open a private consulting business. However, my plans did not align with God's plans. During the summer of 2014, one afternoon, while weeding the flower garden, I was interrupted by an internal voice that seemingly, came out of nowhere: “You don’t really think I gave you all those leadership experiences and training opportunities for nothing, do you? Go and help the churches. Do it.” It was clear to me that God wanted me to help the churches. God never works through just one person to accomplish His purpose. Instead, God works through community.
Today, Providence Solutions is one of the ministries of Divine Providence of South Dakota and serves to assist Christian churches and non-profit organizations in NE South Dakota. We will work closely with you to assess your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and to create strategic plans to help your church better fulfill God's purpose and plan for the future. May God Bless You, Jo Vitek
